I planned on my smartphone to read the temperature / humidity / light. Above all, the outside temperature to prepare me clothes-appropriately when I wanted to leave the house. However, the solution should not be cabled (cable breaks through closed windows / doors are annoying), but the measurements should be transmitted wirelessly and also recorded in the sense of a history.
From this, a project suitable for beginners developed with the Particle Photon and a DHT22 sensor, which is suitable for both temperature and humidity. The measurements are made available by Blync also on the smartphone.

The history shows a graphic both on the smartphone through Blync, as well as a web solution like thingspeak.com, which receives the data through Webhook integration.

In the further course I still have a notification via IFTTT.com integrated, So I am informed in case of disturbances such as power failure by e-mail.

Please take into account that measurements are taken at the location of the sensor. This means that this design is to be carried out twice, namely for the indoor, as well as for outdoor measurement. I advise the beginner to deal first with the methods used here for a construction.
I use the same program code for both my "Photon1" (indoor) and "Photon3" (outdoor). I comment on the listing accordingly.
The focus of this description is on the collection of the data! The setup of Blync is included in the program code in just a few lines. However, it is not shown how the Blync app on the smartphone itself (the generation of a link costs 1000 Blync energypoints) and how web hooks are set up or how an applet is compiled in IFTTT.
How to add an LED matrix - the Hoverlabs Beam - as an extension, is described step by step in a further project.
Wishing you every success and nice weather at any time!
